About the project

Dollar A Day’s eyesight restoration initiative aims to end preventable blindness in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has one of the highest rates of untreated cataracts in the world despite its dense population. Because of extreme poverty and a lack of health knowledge, nearly half a million individuals may be blind from cataracts. Dollar A Day’s work in Bangladesh focuses on screening people to diagnose eye issues, providing sight tests to check for refractive error, and supporting cataract operations to restore vision.

SUPPORT THE NEEDY ALL YEAR AROUND

Dollar A Day is an Australian non-profit charitable and limited by guarantee public company, which is dedicated to helping disadvantaged people, especially women, widows, children and orphans in Bangladesh. Directed by an accomplished board of directors and a passionate team of enthusiastic volunteers, Dollar A Day strives to pursue a definite goal: to help eradicate structural poverty among vulnerable people by implementing sustainable revenue generation projects for them through charity.
